Dear OC Code Pink Activists and Supporters,
From the bosom of a devastated Earth a voice goes up with our own. It says: “Disarm! Disarm!” The original meaning of the very first Mother’s Day in 1870 was pro-peace.
And so we will be holding our 6th annual “Mother’s Day for Peace” vigil at the Orange Circle on Sunday May 8th from 1-3pm. I am attaching the Mother’s Day flyer 2011. Our vigil will be held in solidarity with many other Mother’s Day actions for peace.
Please plan to join us! And please feel free to share this information with others who are striving for peace.
“We, the women of one country,
Will be too tender of those of another country
To allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs.”
~ Julia Ward Howe, Mother’s Day Proclamation, 1870
